While delivering remarks to his colleagues following the vote for Speaker, Mike Johnson, who grabbed the gavel with unanimous GOP support, told a story about his father who was a firefighter in Shreveport, Louisiana.
“All I ever wanted to be when I grew up was the chief of the fire department in Shreveport.”
