Trump Reveals Two Potential VP Picks

After hinting that he’s made up his mind about his running mate last month, Donald Trump teased two potential picks over the weekend, but added that he wouldn’t announce the pick “for a little while.”

The tease came during an interview with reporter Maria Bartiromo, and he didn’t say if there were others.

According to Fox:

“What criteria are you using to identify who your running mate is?” Bartiromo asked.

“Always, it’s got to be who is going to be a good president. Obviously, you always have to think that because in case of emergency. Things happen, right? No matter who you are, things happen. That’s got to be No. 1,” Trump said.

“Who is your running mate?” Bartiromo said.

“Well, I have a lot of good people. I have a lot of good ideas, You know, I called [South Carolina Sen.] Tim Scott and people like Tim Scott, and I said you’re a much better candidate for me than you are for yourself,” Trump said. “When I watched him, he was fine. He was good, but he was very low-key. I watched him in the last week, defending me and sticking up for me and fighting for me. I said, ‘Man, you’re a much better person for me than you are for yourself,'” he continued.

While Trump’s VP pick remains undecided, Joe Biden is stuck with a VP who has a lower approval rating than Dick Cheney after he shot someone.

Despite the announcement, the bookies (as of writing) have Elise Stefanik as the favorite with an implied 21.2% of being chosen. The odds for Noem are 17.2%, 12.9% for Scott, and 10.7% for Ramaswamy. However, the numbers should probably be taken with a grain of salt, as for some reason bettors are giving Nikki Haley a 10.3% chance of being picked for VP, which obviously has a zero percent chance of happening.
